Staff Picnic @ YBDP (88)
The teachers of DAV Dwarka had a day out in the serene and natural surroundings of Yamuna Biodiversity Park, a forest area developed near river Yamuna. The place is a combination of three ecosystems viz. wetlands, grassland and forests. The eventful day started with a visit to the museum where the relationship between man and biosphere was clearly depicted. Then followed the nature trail where teachers got an opportunity to know about many plant species, their origin, morphology and uses in daily life. The visit to the Butterfly Conservatory gave a chance to observe the stages of the life cycle of a butterfly. A power point presentation on Plant Taxonomy added an intellectual dash to the outing. All teachers enjoyed sumptuous lunch in the pollution free environment. The presence of Dr. B.C. Sabata, Sr. Scientific Officer, Ministry of Environment, Govt. of NCT of Delhi and the school principal Ms. Monika Mehan brought liveliness in the gathering. The teachers took this outing as a rejuvenator before the start of the new academic session.
